Music lesson
One-on-one music lessons are optional and are designed for young individuals (4-6). These lessons aim to spark early cognitive and emotional development during the early years. This is not only outlined in the Early Years Framework but also in the National Quality Standards.
The lesson will involve rhythm games, clapping games, singing, percussions, story telling and physical movements all of which are enhancing individuals' physical, verbal and mental wellbeing (EYLF outcomes 3, 5).
Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, Larry Page, the billionaire CEO of Google, Tom Cruise etc all play the piano. The connection between music and success is not a coincidence. When exploring and learning music in a right, positive mindset, one can reach his/her full potential.
Learning piano is not only about mastering a skill, but more importantly, it's about enhancing one's;
Emotional bank
The process of playing piano acts as a strong medium in filtering and releasing our daily stress. Music is a key to our emotions. It allows us to break down our negativity and to top up our positivity. At the same time, it is a great talent for you to show off to your mates and win some applause.
Smarter and healthier wellbeing
While playing music can enhance your emotional wellbeing, listening to music can strongly improve your holistic development, according to several researchers.
For instance, according to Pauwels et al. Mozart in Music and Medicine (2014), music acts as an essential medium in boosting the body's immune system. On the other hand, playing music can also enhance one's cognitive development, fine motor skills, memory and brain processing speeds (Worschech, 2022, James, 2020, Rauscher, 1997).
While training is more beneficial if started at an early age, researchers have shown that learning music can also aid the recovery of elderly stroke and in preventing dementia (Villeneuve, 2013).
Refining essential soft skills that we need for social success.
In order to master the skill, critical thinking and persistence are necessary. At the same time, for faster improvement, you will need to design and develop a practice time that fits into your daily schedule; therefore, time management is essential. Achieving a skill can therefore boost your soft skills, which is a critical key to future success in all fields.
So, if you're wondering what makes people more successful, the answer is perhaps closer than what you think.
