Why Musiart?

Playing the keys of Success

Why should we learn music?

Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, Larry Page, the billionaire CEO of Google, Tom Cruise etc all play the piano. The connection between music and success is not a coincidence. When learning music in the right way, one can reach his/her full potential. So, if you have ever wondered 'why some people are more successful than others', the answer is perhaps closer than what you thought.

According to several researchers, music can strongly promote one's

Emotional bank

The process of playing piano acts as a strong medium in filtering and releasing our daily stress. Music is a key to our emotions. It allows us to break down our negativity and this can boost our positivity. At the same time, it is a great talent for you to show-off to your mates and win some applause. â€‹

Smarter and healthier wellbeing

While playing music can enhance your emotional wellbeing, listening to music can strongly improve your holistic development according to several researchers.

For instance, according to Pauwels et al. Mozart in Music and Medicine (2014), music acts as an essential medium in boosting body's immune system. On the other hand, playing music can also enhance one's cognitive development, fine motor skills, memory and brain processing speeds (Worschech, 2022, James, 2020, Rauscher, 1997).

While training is more beneficial if started at the early childhood age, researchers have shown that learning music can also aid the recovery of elderly stroke and in preventing dementia (Villeneuve, 2013). â€‹

Refining essential soft skills that we need for social success.

In order to master the skill, critical thinking and persistence are necessary. At the same time, for faster improvement, you will need to design and develop a practise time that fits into your daily schedule, therefore, time management is essential. Achieving a skill can therefore boost your soft skills which is a critical key to future success. â€‹

Interest-based learning

Lessons are tailored according to student's needs and interests. Therefore, no matter if you are planning to do grades or competitions or want to pass your recital exams, Mei is experienced in designing a lesson course through continuous reciprocal communications (with all parties) and through a responsive approach according to the student's needs.

At the same time, Mei supports students to appreciate music by exploring the connection between music history, artworks and sounds. This therefore enable us to see, hear and feel musical motifs in our daily life.

Play-based learning

With younger children, Mei designed several interactive games in supporting hands-on learning. This includes snake and ladder, domino, racing cars, farm house etc. Apart from these interactive games, Mei will also use games online to refine new knowledge.

On the other hand, music games (singing, dancing, rhythm games, clapping games) will also be involved when needed. These games aimed to support toddler/pre-schoolers to feel the beats and rhythm before playing them on the piano.
